Infant Swimming Resource Self-Rescue™ is an internationally recognized system of aquatic survival instruction for infants and young children ages 6 months to 6 years old. The program focuses on educating parents and children about aquatic survival and safety issues. All swim lessons are one-on-one and catered to each child's individual needs.
ISR Self-Rescue™ Instructors are the most highly trained and qualified instructors in any swimming program in the country and must undergo strict re- certification testing annually. Each instructor is academically trained and tested in areas such as child psychology, physiology, anatomy and behavioral science to provide the safest lesson possible for your child. In addition, each instructor spends a minimum of 60 hours hands on, supervised in-water training working with actual students.
Infants and young toddlers learn to roll onto their backs to rest and breathe. They learn to maintain this posture until help arrives.
Older, more mobile children learn the sequence of swimming until they need air, rotating onto their back to float and breathe, then rolling back over to continue to swim. They continue this sequence until they reach the step, side of the pool, or shoreline.
